Her long, stringy red hair clung wet to her shoulders and breasts, dripping slowly as the afternoon light dried her skin to a flushed, refreshed glow. She had come here seeking solitude after the exorcism, after the Christ had torn the seven demons from her flesh with words like lightning. Yet solitude had betrayed her; the gorge was not empty.
