LAST KNOWN BOSS
OF DIMEO CRIME FAMILY
DIES AT 90
Don Corrado John Soprano Jr
June 12, 2017
Don Soprano passed away at the age of 90 on June 7, 2017, exactly 10 years to the day that his nephew, Anthony "Tony" Soprano, was gunned down in front of his family at Holstein's Restaurant in 2007.
Don Soprano was a controversial figure in the criminal underworld, known for his ruthless tactics and iron-fisted control over his family. Despite his advanced age, he remained a powerful and feared presence in the world of organized crime until his death.
The circumstances surrounding Don Soprano's passing are still unclear, but sources close to the family have confirmed that he died peacefully in his sleep at Newark Hospital ICU.

The Don, "Junior" Soprano was a career criminal with deep ties & influence with the New Jersey Mob as The Five Families in NYC. Corrado was able to avoid FBI RICO Charges due to claims of mental illness & being institutionized at Wycott Psychiatric Center located in Monclair New Jersey for the past 15 years with claims of dementia & late stage Alzheimer's.
With the death of Don Soprano, the future of the DiMeo Family remains uncertain. Many are speculating about who will step up to fill the power vacuum left by his passing, and what this could mean for the criminal underworld in New Jersey.
Some FBI officials believe that Junior may have been using his mental illness as a way to avoid prosecution and maintain control over the crime family. They point to inconsistencies in his behavior and actions that suggest he may have been exaggerating his symptoms.

There are those who are on record questioning whether Corrado "Junior" Soprano was faking mental illness as the late renowned Genovese crime-boss Vincent "The Chin" Gigante had during the 1990s until he was later found out in 2001.
However, others argue that Junior's mental illness was genuine and that he struggled with dementia and other cognitive issues in his later years. They believe that his decline in mental health was a natural progression and not a calculated ploy to evade justice.
Regardless of the debate surrounding Junior's mental state, his death has left a power vacuum in the DiMeo crime family, leading to uncertainty and instability within the organization. The FBI continues to monitor the situation closely, as they work to dismantle the remaining criminal elements within the family.
Many are expected to attend the funeral to pay their respects to the notorious mob boss, including current and former members of his organization. The police are also expected to be present to ensure that the event remains peaceful and to keep an eye on any potential conflicts that may arise.
Soprano's death marks the end of an era in the criminal underworld, but it also signals a new chapter of uncertainty and power struggles among those vying to fill the void left by his passing. The future of organized crime in the area remains uncertain, but one thing is for sure - the legacy of Corrado John Soprano Jr will not soon be forgotten.
