Carlo Gervasi--(DIMeo Family Underboss) entered the funeral home office with Compagino (DIMeo Family Consigiliere) closely behind him. A.J. stood up from behind the desk to greet while the others remained seated. (HEY POPS!)
"You will have to forgive my son Jason--I have failed him as his father." Carlo shot a glare across the room at his son Geno in repose on the large heavy brown leather couch sipping an Espresso. "My son is incapable of conceiving the seriousness of solemn moments."
Then Carlo bowed his head standing before A.J. face to face in front of everyone to lift A.J.'s ring-hand up with his two hands to his mouth to kiss & say: "My Don Anthony John."
Lowering A.J.'s hand with one of his as he reached inside of his black suit-jacket to produce a fat envelope to give it directly from his hand to A.J.'s. "For you my Don. The Captians voted & agreeded to add a bump to our tributes. Which could be equivalent to an additional envelope for all the time & effort you have in making all of the arrangements & the precautious measures of privacy."
A.J. graciously accepted the tribute & told Carlo that he was a long trusted friend of his late father as A.J. considered him to be giving him an assuringpat on Carlo's arm..
Then A.J. cocks his head sideways to glare at Compagino. "It's about fucking time you got here?!"
But before Compagino could answer for himself Carlo interupts to defend him saying: "He had to give me a ride here--I can't count on my son to bring me! And I made Cork have to wait for me to take my blood-pressure medicine. I take it at the same time each & everyday just like my doctor said."
"Geno. Come & get your Oldman & take him to find coffee & pastries downstairs. He will feel more at home down there in the kitchen anyway!--I hope you didn't give me all your money Oldman & saved alittle cash back for a 5 hour (1 to 6) Capos Poker Game this afternoon downstairs. W/a buy in of 10K for 8000 back in chips.)
Then A.J. turns to face Compagino. "OK Now.--I want you to be my sentinel & the office door-man. And A.J. reaches into his jacket pocket to hand him an over-sized skeleton key on a brass ring to wear around his wrist. "No one enters or leaves without passing by you. If I knodd to you means leave me & lock the door from the outside so no one can enter the office & disturb our private discussions. (Gotcha.) "Just don't fall asleep out there on me or run off to take a shit somewhere!" A.J. slaps Compagino near shoulder saying: "Don't worry Cork--I have my own key to get out if you wander off?!" (Good.) The two men laugh together as A.J. starts pushing him out the office door iinforming him there was a table & chair in the hallway for him to man.
A.J. takes a deep breath & exhaled:"SHUT the goddamn door Cork!--Christ. That guy slays me A.J. laughes to toss Vito the fat envelope of their gambling winnings from Geno."Count That!" He instructed him as he picked out a second cream-stick donut .
"OK--Take out our original investment (5K each) & split the rest.(20K each). 25 for you--25 for me." (SO?) "Here's 4K$." (AND?) Vito peers up at his big brother with a guilty grin as he slides two 500$bills saying: "Heres 1K$ More!"
"BINGO!--See how that works little brother?!"
"It works for me T!" Vito put 20K$ into his inside jacket pocket as Compagino opened the office door for "COCO--T." as Salvatore Cogliano being the DIMeo Crime Family "Front-Boss" entered the office past Cork.
"The Florists are out there getting an early start delivering the flowers for Junior before tempetures sky-rocket into the High 90F's. The delivery driver said he had four more full loads to bring!"
"I better go see if I can be any assistance!" Vito excuses himself to leave them alone to speak in private before Cork closed & locked the door behind them. (Good Man.)
"SO.--COCO!" A.J. stretches out his hand to shake when Salvatore lifts his hand up to bow his head & kiss A.J.'s ring saying: "My Don--Anthony John." Then Coco hands A.J. a full envelope with a "Bump".
"Condolences--My Don. Family is Family."
"Well Said my Good Man." A.J. agrees to shift the discussion. "Are you going to be in on the Capo Game this afternoon?"
"OH YEA!" Coco flashes a money-belt under his black suit-jacket.
"Can I ask a favor of you Coco?"
"Yea. Sure. Whatever you want done A.J."
Laughing A.J. sys: "I'm not asking you to whack anybody! Last night Vito & I delivered a SATRIELES Roaster & Grill-Pit." (Yea?!) "Carlo isn't aware of it yet but we also put twenty Suckling Pigs & Hams to Roast with cases of Hams/Sausages/Steaks & Chicken to grill." (Yea?) "Yea. And I'd like you to give Carlo a hand with putting on his apron if you follow my "Drift"?"
"Yes. Of course Anthony! I will keep an eye on the Oldman with this Heatwave."
"Good Man! I knew I could count on you Coco! Is there anything I can do for you?!"
"No.--I'm Good A.J.!" Coco reaches out his hand to shake & hug before leaving when A.J. opened the cigar box to give him two to take for him & Carlo.
