CAITLYN MOLTISANTI

10 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER OF

THE LATE CHRISTOPHER MOLTISANTI

& KELLI LOMBARDO MOLTISANTI

XXVI

A.J. steps out to speak to Compagino in the hallway to tell him to assign those two Palmice brothers with Bryant's construction crew on Thursday morning. Commenting they would pouring be a concrete slab to build 50 new storage units rentals.

"Tell Bryant to put it on them that first day to see what they are made of & will they show back up for work the next day. If they shake out have them show up for a half a day on Saturday."

When they concluded their conversation Carmela approached them holding the hand of a beautiful little 10 year old girl with a bald head. & Her widow-mother Kelli Lombardo Moltisanti the wife of the late Christopher Moltisanti who died from injuries he suffered from a car-accident ten years before.

A.J. smiles as his mother Carmela asked him if he knew who the little girl was? A.J. bents down to look her in the eyes before answering " Yes. I believe so!" The little girl gives him a questioning look. "Your name is Caitlyn!"

"Yes Sir! But I don't know who you are?"

"My name is A.J. We are cousins somehow & I knew your father."

"I never knew my father. I was just a baby when he died."

"Yes. I recall that--Can I pick you up? I have something for you."

"Yes."

W/BRAIN CANCER

Caitlyn wraps her long thin arms around A.J.'s thick neck as he stood lifting her up into his arms to carry her inside the funeral home office leaving Carmela & Kelli standing in the hallway.

A.J. carried Caitlyn over to the donuts box to pick out one for herself. Then he carries her over to sit atop the desk as he sat in the office chair to watch her eat it at head level with her.

"What does your name A.J. stand for?!"

"Anthony John."

"I will call you by your first name then Anthony--Intials are so impersonal!"

"That's fine Caitlyn--Is that chocolate cream stick still fresh?"

"Oh yes!--Thank-you Anthony!! Its so delicious! & I sure needed it--I was fading a tad bit!" When she asked A.J. "--What's your last name Anthony?"

"Soprano."

"Well we must be related because Soprano is my last name too!" Taking A.J. by surprise as his mother & Kelli entered the office.

Carmela suggested that Caitlyn come with her to clean the chocolate from her face to allow her mother Kelli to speak with A.J.

A.J. leans forward to lift Caitlyn off the desk unto her feet to leave. "It is my pleasure to meet you Anthony John Soprano--I hope we can see each other again under more pleasant circumstances."  And she kisses A.J. on his cheek leaving chocolate icing behind on his cheek before A.J. stood for Carmela to lead Caitlyn out of the office by her sticky hand.

A.J. offers Kelli a seat on the large brown leather couch & a drink. When suddenly Kelli burst into tears holding her face in her hands when she sat.

A.J. sat down beside her with a box of tissues for her tears. A.J. remained silent until Kelli was able to compose herself.

"Caitlyn has a brain tumor.  She has just finished a series of chemotherapy sessions in advance of her surgery. She has been accepted to St Jude's Children Hospital in NYC.  So that means there will be no cost associated with her surgery or hospital stay & post medical treatments. They will provide me a room with meals to stay for the duration of Caitlyn's hospital stay.

"When is her surgery scheduled for?" A.J. asked warmly.

"Monday--the 19th."

"Is there anything that we can do for you & Caitlyn?"

Kelli paused & began crying again. Sobbing how she had lost her job because she had to miss so much work to care for her daughter. Then the Bank was threatening to take her house from them  because they were so far behind on their mortage. Plus her car was on its last leg sitting in her driveway with a flat tire.

"We came in the rental car you provided us with. That was so thoughtful of you A.J."

A.J. embrace her sincerely & assured her everything will work out for them. Encouraging her to focas her attention on supporting her daughter. "Caitlyn needs you to be the best mommy you can be right now!"

"I'm trying A.J but I feel like I am failing her! I wish her father was still alive. & She is such a sweet & considerate person. She is highly intelligent--Tops in her class when she can attend school that is. She has been so fearless & brave facing this brain tumor."

"Well from what I can see Kelli you have done a fantastic job being a mother & raising Caitlyn! & She couldn't be in better hands at St Jude's!

Kelli thanked A.J. for his kindness & encouragement before she left the office to locate Caitlyn & Carmela.
